MATE International ROV competition 2011

This is the first time we participate in MATE International ROV competition, and we had got 16th.

We found that our ROV’s thrusters are not powerful enough, and the circuit board seems not very stable. Maybe in the waterproof box there is too many circuit board, and the wire we call “杜邦線” is not fixed enough, so as all connectors.

Also we didn’t do our best to waterproof our box, sometime it doesn’t work, so the circuit board is dangerous.

The algorithm between ROV and controller is not good enough, so all the action cannot be done at the same time. The coming ROV should use a Joystick with PC, and control ROV using RS485, maybe we will use XBOX360′s controllers.

the frame of ROV should be made with metal, Macau Science Center maybe can help us to do that.

Inertial Navigation System is my project this year, and it can help ROV know it’s position, also it can make sure your ROV is stable, and it can make your ROV float and sink more easily. But there is a lot of problem here…..

In this trip we met the Hawaii team and we became very good friends. I had learn a lot of thing form them, we play together and the don’t mind my poor English skill, i will never forget your friendship. I hope that we will meet again in next years ROV competition, and grow up together. :)

Intel ISEF 2011

Intel ISEF is the best Fair I’ve been. i can’t forget this week, it was very memorable.

At there i have made many friends and also insight many excellent projects around the world.

Especially Pin exchange, I have made many friends, collected much pin and took many photos, the pin made my coat is shining, i like it very much!

In the Intel ISEF night at Club Nokia, at there i have made a very good friend Chelsea, she talk to me so much, tell me how to dance and understand about my poor English. Actually i feel nervous at that night, but she was sure that i can do my best, she encourage to me so much! thank you so much! Maybe we will meet again in next year. I hope that i can understand more about your project.

and also, Leon introduced a friend also called Leon to me, he had built a very good robot to help people to recycle the resources, but unluckily his battery had been confiscated so that it can’t work, and he is not good at English just like me but there are no interpreter  can help. :( He is not good at electronic so he put a big computer in his robot, but he is good at Mechanical, because in his robot i can see there is many think done very well and neat,  i should learn something form him especially about Mechanical.

Actually I had built this project with Bottle for a long time, but I’m a bit busy, so I upload it now.
when this video uploaded, there are 670 views for one day, but for some reason i should close it.

It really is a special experience!
I want to build a TV for a long time, but i don’t know how to do this. One day i found a TV kit from internet, so i buy it and build it.
OK, please don’t tease my poor English, I should study harder for my English.

Hello, I haven’t blogging these days, I had built an Ultrasonic range finder, using this module is easier than I thought,

but now it can’t work underwater, I’ll buy an underwater ultrasonic sensor, I hope that it can work underwater.

But I should finish another projects now.





8×24 LED Matrix with AVR ATmega8 and 74HC595(SPI)

hello~ at this time, i want to share a project about 8×24 LED Matrix.

i think that many of you may know the elements about how the LED Matrix run, at here, i will not talk about it.

Actually i had used 24 transistors (2N3904) to drive the LEDs, and with 330 ohms.

about ATmega8, it just need 4 pins that you can control this board easily, because SPI, i use SPI link 4 74HC595 to ATmega8′s SPI port(PORTB), three of 74HC595 is controlling which line’s LEDs should be control and another one is control the LEDs which has been selected.

you may found the schematic in the video, but it just a simulation, so i hadn’t make transistors in that schematic.

a Radio project
its circuit is extremely easy , you just need use 2 PINS that you can control it fine,
I2C is a good thing! I think i will buy more module is I2C bus interface.
